I love buddleia, but it really involves a lot of pruning if you want to keep it flowering well throughout the summer…and today it had it’s first haircut I absolutely can’t bear the brown flower heads on the bush, so I take down a lot of branches, but always save the stems which are still in flower… I also strip a few of the longer branches as I’ll use them in the garden at some point to prop plants up… …so I had an enormous bunch to utilise ( below, is my garden plant pet hate… ) …and the 3 stages the buddleia goes through before my snippers come out… I chose a few vessels… …and filled them!…I also added a few bits from other fading arrangements inside the house for the ikebana vessels… …and then cleared up a lot of mess …simplified the table …and poured an evening beer!
